May 2018 blood test in

Blood test chart photo

My May blood test has come in. I was especially interested in finding out my numbers because of my recent two bouts of pneumonia.

My numbers are up by a little. Luckily not as much as I thought they would be. My White Blood Cell count is the highest it has ever been at 75.4. But that’s only 0.5 more than the previous most high number back in February of 2016. Lymphocytes are higher than ever and, at 70.9, close to the WBC count. That’s a little freaky but overall my numbers are still low.

I’ll be having another test in August just before my meeting with the doctor.

I also plan on meeting with my family doctor to make sure I’ve had all my pneumonia shots. They seem a bit confused about my records so I’m going to be more proactive in getting answers.

That brings up a good point. It is very important that we all question everything our doctors tell us. I don’t mean that in a negative way. We, or course, need to follow their advise. But doctors are human just like us and can make mistakes like anyone. No one knows your body better than you so stay alert and proactive.
