My May 2017 blood test results are in. My White Blood Cell and Lymphocyte counts are down. That’s good news. I was getting concerned that the “plateau” I’ve been on since 2013 was giving way to another steep climb upwards. Not so. Whew!

My WBC count since June 2013 has averaged 64.65. Here’s my current numbers:

White blood cells: 66.2, Red blood cells: 4.04, Platelets: 454, Lymphocytes: 54.9.

It’s time again for my lab work. I was worried this time because I’ve been tired. I normally do the test every three months but I’ve had a cold on and off and I knew it would throw off the white blood cell count. So I waiting until the last test just before my doctors appointment.

Fortunately my numbers are still relatively stable. The white blood cell count is a bit higher but still within that “plateau” I’ve talked about before. My numbers, though bouncing up and down, started leveling out back in November 2013. So here they are.

White blood cells: 72.6, Red blood cells: 4.15, Platelets: 438, Lymphocytes: 68.2.

My cold is getting better. Looks like my immune system is still working!

I skipped my usual blood test since I figured having it done when I have a cold would just throw off the result because it would show too may white blood cells due to the cold infection.

I’m not sure if that is true but I have time before my next doctor appointment so I’ll have the blood test done next month.

Blood test results August 2016Here’s my labs for August 2016. The numbers are still relatively flat. In fact, as you can see, they have dropped a little. That’s good news. I am blessed that they don’t continue to climb as they did from September 2009 through June of 2013. So far Leuk is taking it easy on me. I hope my lower stressed life is contributing to this.

Well, the numbers for my most current blood test are a bit better. All my counts have fluctuated up and down but stayed at a relative plateau since November of 2013. That’s good news.

I’m hoping I’m right about attributing this flattening out to the lowered stress in my life (see my “Leuk and stress” post). Whatever the cause, I’m glad that, at least for now, I’m staying steady.
