On family, boating, and wildfires

Photo of SeaRay boat

It’s Monday morning and I’m at my daughter’s house watching the grandkids. Well, Caleb and his friend Andrew that is. My other grandkid, Joshua, is at Day Camp this week.

I tell you there is nothing better than being with family to take your mind off Leuk. It’s been a great week/weekend. My son is also up with his family. They are boating in the San Juan Islands but before they left we got to take a spin in his new SeaRay boat (the photo is not his boat but is the same model). I hadn’t been out on the water since my sailboat got crushed by a tree. It was good to be floating again. I’ve always thought the water felt like home.

Today, and for the last week or so, the sun has been shining but with a pinkish muted glow. There’s a bunch of wildfires across the border in Canada so we get to enjoy the smoke down here. For some reason it doesn’t stop at the border; Customs just lets it on through–no passport or anything. I guess Mother Nature gets a free pass. She recognizes no borders.

Today I’m working on designing this website (you might have noticed it looks considerably different than last week). I’m still fighting a few technical issues but all in all it’s working out.

Speaking of which, you will find a cool new feature. You can click on the translator and pick your native language. So if English is your second language but Swahili or whatever is your first, than go ahead and click on the “Select Language” drop-down menu.

Anyway, I hope your day is going well for you. I feel a lot better today.

Godspeed all.

Sheila! Hi. I didn’t know you were still reading my blog. Yeah, I decided to give my readers a face to relate to. More importantly I figured my wife deserved some recognition since she’s my rock. How are you doing?
